Since 2012, the trade union committee of JSC «Minsk Research Institute of Radio Materials» has regularly organized excursions across Belarus for union members and their families. Employees have visited the cities of Mogilev, Mir, Novogrudok, Lida, Turov, and others, where they became acquainted with cultural and historical monuments of our Motherland. These trips broaden horizons, fill people with positive emotions, and unite the team.

As part of the celebration of the Institute’s Foundation Day on October 20, 2018, the trade union committee, with financial support from the administration, organized a trip to historical sites of Belarus. Forty‑five union members visited the agro‑town Rubezhevichi, where in the Church of St. Anthony they listened to an organ concert and learned much about famous residents of the Stolbtsy and Dzerzhinsk districts of the Minsk region.

Then they visited the manor‑park complex «Park of History Sula», where a new world opened before the excursionists, in which the boundaries between material and spiritual fade, and the lost connection with our past is restored. Everything here allows one to immerse in the refined and enchanting world of the Belarusian manor of the 18th century.

The MNIRRM excursion was solemnly welcomed at the gates with a horse escort, accompanied by live music, and led to the central square of the park, from where our journey through a thousand years of the history of our native land began.

They visited sites of megalithic culture (cromlech), pagan sites and sanctuaries with the performance of an ancient Slavic fire purification ritual, the Varangian pier, and sailed along the river on a drakkar. Afterwards, they became acquainted with the medieval quarter, with the history of the castle under restoration, split a stone for further construction of the castle, and in the armory workshop forged an amulet (an arrowhead).

The journey continued into the 15th–17th centuries, the era of the nobility. In the Hall of Noble Glory they viewed a weapons exhibition, and our youth took part in the entertainment «Cup on the blade». In the brewery, MNIRRM visitors were treated to the elite drink «Starka Zapolskaya».

The day was interesting and cheerful.

Such events have already become a tradition in our institute. The trade union committee does not intend to stop at what has been achieved. Many more interesting and useful events are planned.
